Ecotopia Biketour is a self-organized environmental and social activist bicycle tour that has been cycling through different parts of Europe each summer since 1990. On our way we visit social and environmental projects and groups, to learn about their struggles and visions, to exchange knowledge, to create connections and to support them by participating in actions or doing some physical work. Read more about what the Ecotopia Biketour is.
Ecotopia Biketour 2017 will go through Germany, France and may be to Switzerland and eastern Spain. A more specific route will be announced on the website as soon as it is decided. If you have some recommendations for projects, groups and events for us to visit on the way or would like to help preparing the tour, write to 2017@ecotopiabiketour.net. The Kick off!…we are finally on the road..well at least in Berlin!
So we are finally on the road, after a busy few days in Berlin. Here are few things we got up to during our Kick off days in Berlin…more on them is to follow… On Thursday We met at New Yorck to share remaining tasks such as making food teams / sourcing rocket stove workshop materials and anything else we might need for the next few days, then cycled to our sleeping place en mass, to cook food together and wait for the others to arrive! On Friday We took part in a workday at Funkhaus a reletively new project…
Finding Biketour and Connecting with Mambesak, African Refugees and Kreuzberg Activists – 13th July
The Morning I understand that biketour started very early but very well on Saturday; successful blocking a Nazi protest in Berlin. Mabesak & West Papua Beth and I did not meet up with biketour until after 1pm in front of the Lush shop in Friedichstrauss. Here Mabesak, West Papuan activists and musicians joined us to tell us about the persecution and genocide they currently face due to the 44 year Indonesian occupation of their country. West Papua…
Grenzen in Berlin
